BP Kitchen Equipment Privacy Policy

BP Kitchen Equipment ("BP," "we," "us") refurbishes and sells commercial food equipment from our shop at 800 E 73rd Ave Unit 18, Denver, CO 80229. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.
It covers bpkitchenequip.com, our eBay store, and orders, invoices, warranty forms, emails, calls and text messages with us. We do not sell your personal information.
Information we collect
Information you give us
Orders and invoices: name, business name, email, phone, and shipping and billing addresses.
Warranty registrations and claims: your contact details, order or invoice number, the equipment's serial number, and a description of any problem.
Messages and calls: what you send us by email, the contact form, eBay messages or phone, including photos or videos of your equipment, and your consent to receive texts if you give it.
Newsletter: your email address, if you sign up.
Payment information: card payments are handled by Squarespace's checkout, Stripe or eBay. We never see or store full card numbers.
Information collected automatically: when you visit our website, we and our providers collect basic usage data through cookies, such as pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location, and how you reached the site.
How we use your information
Process, ship and deliver your order, and send order and tracking updates.
Register and honor your warranty, and handle claims and repairs.
Provide tech support and follow up after delivery to check that your equipment is working.
Keep business, tax and accounting records.
Answer your questions and send newsletters you signed up for (unsubscribe anytime).
Understand how our website is used and measure and improve our advertising.
Prevent fraud and meet legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and customer data is not shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. Mobile opt-in data and consent are never shared with anyone (see Text messaging below). We share other information only with service providers that help us run the business, and only as much as each needs:
Website, checkout and payments: Squarespace, Stripe, eBay
Shipping and freight: ShipStation, FedEx, Priority1 and the freight carriers it books
Records, email and forms: Google Workspace, Airtable, Zapier, Fillout, Grasshopper (business phone service)
Accounting: QuickBooks
Website analytics and advertising: Google Analytics, Google Ads
AI tools that help us organize records and draft replies: Anthropic (Claude)
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.
eBay data used by our application
BP uses its own private application to connect to eBay's APIs. It is used only with BP's own eBay seller accounts, after we grant it access through eBay's sign-in.
Through it we read order, buyer shipping and tracking information for orders placed with BP on eBay. We use that information only to fulfill and track those orders, keep our sales and warranty records, and support the buyer. We do not sell it, use it for marketing outside eBay, or share it except with the shipping and record-keeping providers listed above.
Access tokens are stored securely, and access can be revoked at any time from the eBay account's settings. If eBay tells us a user has closed their account, we delete that user's eBay data as eBay requires.
Text messaging (SMS)
BP Kitchen Equipment sends text messages from 720-994-8744 to customers who agree to receive them.
How you opt in: check the optional text message consent box on a form on our website, tell us on a call or at our shop that you'd like texts, or text START to 720-994-8744. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase.
Data sharing
Customer data is not shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.
Mobile opt-in and consent are never shared with anyone for any purpose. Any information sharing that may be mentioned elsewhere in this policy excludes mobile opt-in data.
BP Kitchen Equipment Messaging Terms and Conditions
The messaging program consists of informational, conversational messages: answers to your questions, tech support, order, shipping and delivery updates, warranty reminders, and links to resources such as manuals, warranty forms and tracking pages. We do not send marketing or promotional texts.
You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text STOP or CANCEL to 720-994-8744. After you send STOP, we will send you one message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed, and you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. To join again, text START or opt in the way you did the first time.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. Message frequency varies based on communication needs. For questions about your text or data plan, contact your wireless provider.

Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our website uses cookies and similar technology. Some are needed for the site and cart to work. Others come from Google Analytics, which collects traffic data such as pages visited and how long you stay, to help us understand and improve the site. Google processes this data under Google's Privacy Policy.
We advertise through Google Ads. Google may use cookies to show our ads to people who have visited our site and to measure how our ads perform. You can control ad personalization in Google's Ad Settings and opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some site features may not work without them.
Do Not Track: our website does not currently change how it operates in response to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
Our pages may embed YouTube videos, which can set YouTube's own cookies when played.
Keeping, protecting and controlling your information
How long we keep it: as long as we need it for your order, your warranty and support, and our tax and accounting records, and as the law requires. Equipment we sold may come back to us for service years later, so we keep order and serial records to support it.
Security: we store information with the reputable providers listed above, limit access to the two of us who run BP, and use secure connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your choices: you can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you marketing email, by contacting us below. We may need to keep some records for legal, tax or warranty reasons.
Children: our website and products are for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
