Hobart HTi Scales

Hobart HTi Scales

Approach

Label printing scales are a vital component to the sales process of any grocery or butcher operation. Hobart is widely recognized for producing some of the best scales in the industry. That’s why we’ve chosen to make them one of our BP refurbished products.

Every Hobart scale we receive is first inspected to evaluate its current condition and future lifespan, about a third of the them don’t make the cut. The front operator screens are removed and each individually inspected for broken plastics, discolored LCDs, bad wiring, and touchscreens used beyond a having a second life. Most touchscreens we don’t keep and are removed from their frames to have a new one installed later. The interior components of the scales are each individually evaluated for overuse and any deemed unfit for a second life are thrown out.

We don’t sell used equipment at BP. Our service will only ever be to offer a thoroughly revitalized product that is guaranteed to be a long lasting solution to your business’ needs.

Refurbish

Over several years of working with Hobart scales on a daily basis, we’ve developed a comprehensive refurbishment process to ensure every unit meets our high standards. Once a scale has been evaluated and approved for refurbishment, it goes through the following steps:

The interior of the scale is thoroughly deep cleaned, and verified components are ultrasonically cleaned for thorough cleaning. Gears and belts are tightened to optimal tension, sensors are calibrated, and the label cassette is properly aligned. We run a series of test prints to ensure the label printer has no weak or damaged cells. The load cell is tested using certified legal-for-trade weights to confirm it’s ready for calibration upon arrival.

We install a fresh copy of the operating system and update the scale to the latest version ensuring there is no trace of previous user data. Network settings are unlocked, allowing you to connect the scale to your system without needing a Hobart representative.

All existing stickers and tags are removed, and the exterior undergoes a detailed three-step cleaning process. Finally, we complete the refurbishment with a refinished weighing platter to give the scale a clean, professional finish.

Hobart HTi Scale Pre-Purchase FAQ

  • Every Hobart scale purchase will include a link to the operator and supervisor manuals from Hobart’s website. We highly encourage you to read the supervisor manual through chapter 4 to setup your scale. We are available to tech support through this process for specific questions you may have.

  • We do not distribute label stock directly. We work with a partnered label provider to provide labels for these scales. You will receive a flyer in the box to purchase labels from them. We do not recommend purchasing labels before you receive the scale. You will need to decide which label type you want to use for your products, then order the corresponding label stock size for that label type. Loading a different stock size than the label type you want to use requires will cause errors.

  • All of our refurbished Hobart scales have been previously used and calibrated. When we receive used scales in, we run the scale through its calibration process using the class III legal for trade scale weights, but we do not apply the calibration to the scale. Scale calibration cannot be guaranteed on arrival due to shipping and altitude changes. While not always necessary, please be prepared to have Hobart calibrated the load cell’s of your scales upon arrival. When you receive your scale, check the load cell calibration by comparing the weight of an object to a state approved scale you already have if possible.

  • The operator screen is the touch screen used to control the scale. We offer two pricing options, a new or used operator screen. Both new and used are built in a refurbishing housing, but the difference is the physical glass touchscreen itself. Our new option will be brand new with protective film attached. Our used option will be overall lightly used, with only minor scratches and scuffs.
